🎉 ShipEngine is becoming ShipStation API 🎉

Over the next few months you'll notice the ShipEngine website, documentation portal, and dashboard being rebranded as ShipStation API. For our ShipEngine customers, you don't need to take any action or change any of your integrations in any way. All endpoints will remain the same and continue to function as they always have.

To learn more about what's coming, review our New ShipStation API page.

GlobalPost from ShipStation

GlobalPost from ShipStation automatically makes international shipping services available for ShipStation API accounts based in the UK, Canada, and Australia.

GlobalPost partners with local carriers for first-mile parcel management. This means your GlobalPost label will print the domestic sorting facility address and will be transported to the sorting facility by the first-mile partner.

  • Canada: Canada Post
  • UK: EVRi
  • Australia: Australia Post

Once at the GlobalPost sorting facility, the shipments are relabled and then sent on to their final destination. For more details about GlobalPost and their services, visit the GlobalPost FAQ.

This guide provides developers the details needed to build GlobalPost from ShipStation shipping capabilities into their ShipStation API workflows.

Requirements

carrier_name: globalpost

  • A ShipStation API account based in the UK, Canada, or Australia.
  • ShipStation Carriers must be activated for the account and have a positive account balance to create labels. See our Using ShipStation Carriers page for details about activating in your account.
  • A weight value is required for all shipments.
  • Specific size and weight requirements will differ by service and country. See the Service Details section for specifics.

Rates

GlobalPost from ShipStation will return rates to ShipStation API. Additionally, GlobalPost uses a dimensional weight model. While you are not required to enter dimensions to create a label, failure to do say may result in a post-billed adjustment if the dimensional weight differs from the actual weight. We highly recommend including package dimensions when creating a label.
